Is Global Talent Visa Right for You?

The Global Talent visa went through a number of changes during the last couple of years.

The list of prestigious prizes and awards was expanded and a number of important areas of expertise and fields of studies were added.

The initial vision for the Global Talent visa was to secure only very few outstanding individuals throughout the world.

The changes in some of the processes to seek recognition in your chosen area of expertise allows different ways to become eligible and be considered for a UK Global Talent visa.

Perhaps, the most important feature of the Global Talent visa is that the focus is the talent and not necessarily the salary or English language skills, which may open more opportunities for talented and gifted individuals worldwide to come and contribute to the UK’s recognition and talent pool.

The two tier visa application process allows you to seek an endorsement or peer review first before you apply for your UK Global Talent visa.

This first step allows you to demonstrate to yourself and others that you really are the unique global talent the UK is seeking.

If you have been awarded the prize in your category of expertise, you are eligible to apply directly for your UK Global Talent visa and skip the endorsement or peer review stage.

Global Talent Visa – Is it the Right Visa for Investors, Entrepreneurs and Business Owners?

During the last couple of years a number of UK immigration categories that are normally suitable for international investors, entrepreneurs and business owners have been either closed and changed in ways that lost their initial charm and appeal.

If you are a talented individual, you were either awarded a sought after prize or have secured sufficient accomplishments or achievements to apply for your application to be endorsed by the appropriate endorsing body or secure a peer review, the fact that you are also an investor, entrepreneur or a business owner will not be held against you.

You can very much consider applying for a UK Global Talent visa if you appear to be eligible.

What happens when Your UK Visa is rejected?

The 2 tier application process ensures that you are a leader or a potential leader in the industry of your choice.

However, the devil is in the details. Therefore, you are very much encouraged to discuss your Global Talent visa application in both instances:

    • The endorsement and
    • Visa application stage.

A fresh pair of eyes of a qualified professional may reduce the chances of your UK visa application and endorsement being rejected. It is important that you work with a duly qualified, authorised and experienced professional.

If you missed the step of working with a duly authorised professional or your UK visa application was rejected anyway, depending on the reasons why your application was rejected, you may still be eligible to apply again

This time you will need to make sure that your application is well prepared and you address Home Office’s concerns.

The worst you can do is do nothing. Non-action will endorse Home Office’s decision and will leave a poor UK immigration record, which can cause hardship and impediments later.
